A new casino resort is creating new Las Vegas Casino jobs.

Although the State of Nevada is facing rising unemployment, Wynn Resorts is continuing to accept applications to fill 5,300 new job openings. Wynn will soon unveil Encore, a new signature resort in Las Vegas. Wynn began accepting applications for the open positions in July and has already received more than 65,000 applications, according to an article by Market Watch.

Encore is scheduled to open in late December, and suite reservations are being accepted beginning in July 2009. The current job openings are in housekeeping, hotel operations, security, food and beverage, retail and casino operations. The company also is hiring at its Wynn Las Vegas resort.

“Without question, the combination of the current economic climate and Wynn’s reputation as an employer of choice contributes to the high levels of interest among applicants we are currently experiencing,” Stephanie Rosol, vice president of human resources with Wynn Las Vegas, said in the article.

“However, the fact remains that we are still looking for people who share our dedication to excellence and passion for impeccable, personalized service,” Rosol adds. “This is truly an exciting time. Encore will be located next to Wynn Las Vegas, and will serve as a distinct resort destination with its own accommodations, culinary offerings and leisure activities. Encore will offer 11 retail outlets, seven bars and lounges, five restaurants, a nightclub and a spa and salon.

Wynn Las Vegas offers 2,716 guest rooms and suites, a casino, 22 food and beverage outlets, an 18-hole golf course, meeting space, a Ferrari and Maserati dealership, retail space.
