Those looking for Las Vegas casino jobs are in luck as a new facility is creating thousands of job opportunities.
This week CityCenter began accepting applications for the new facility, according to an article by MSNBC. The casino/resort is looking to fill 12,000 positions before it opens later this year. MGM Mirage, the parent company of CityCenter, has decided to accept applications online at the CityCenter Careers Web site, making it easier for out-of-towners to apply.
It’s expected that about half of the jobs at CityCenter will be taken by current MGM-Mirage employees who are looking to transfer, which means their old jobs also will need to be filled. And if an applicant isn’t hired by CityCenter, their resume may be forwarded to the company’s other hotels.
Nevada Job Connect is getting in on the action, leaving nearly all of its computers signed into the facility’s career site. The resort saw about 3,000 applications between midnight and 9 a.m. the first night and expected about 10,000 applications by the end of the day.
“Aptitude is a piece of the equation, but doesn’t nearly merit the weight that attitude does,” Michael Peltyn, vice president of Human Resources, said in the article, “(which is a) very important component of the interview process.”
